What with how much I enjoyed Pushing Daisies, a few weeks ago I decided to work my way through Bryan Fuller's other two cult shows, Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls. I haven't got to Wonderfalls yet (LEE PACE!) but I've really, really enjoyed Dead Like Me. I only have the movie to go, and from what I've read, I'm not missing out on anything there.
So, pimping, if you never caught the show, I highly reccommend it. I can't remember my reasoning behind why I never watched it before now, it's right up my alley, humour-wise. One of the things I enjoy most about PD was the elaborate way the corpses looked (the man who was attacked by a dog NATURALLY has half his face chewed off) and how well this dark humour seemed to blend perfectly with the candy-sweet moments. Likewise in Dead Like Me, while the lead character copes with her new 'life' and the tragedy of not being able to communicate with her family anymore, the series is sprinkled with deaths that not only make you wince but laugh as well.
Not to mention I think the character of Mason (Callum Blue, who according to IMDB has been on 543214879746564 tv shows, but I only know him from the hilarious film Young People Fucking) might the the funniest I've ever seen on a tv show.

I tripped and accidently made a Colin/Bradley fanmix. I am...not as ashamed at making this as I possibly should be?

EPIC ROADTRIP OF EPICNESS IS ON TODAY!
Lol, I love that they know about how much the fans enjoyed the whole miming to John Farnham thing. Do you think they secretly troll the communities or has someone told them how crazy we all went?
*hugs friendslist* Have you all been suspiciously quiet lately or am I just paranoid?

I went to see my aunt's new puppy today. Somewhere along the line of my conception something went wrong and the gene that makes women go all gooey when they see a baby got a little skewed in me, because I only go that way around puppies.

Please ignore my grandmother's terrible legs.
She's a labrador, if you couldn't tell. My arms are torn to shreds from her sharp little baby teeth, but it was worth it!

You GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYYYS! Why didn't anyone tell me about this band?
They're Swedish and if that's not enough of a reason, they're also JAZZ/SWING and HIPHOP. That kind of combination will never not be made of win. Apparently they were on Colbert a few months ago, thus the craze about them has probably already died down after his bump, but whatevs, I've always been (un)fashionably late to the seasons' trends.

You guuuuys, I'm so excited for this new collaboration album by the Black Keys. Bluesy rock is one of my favourite chillout genres and hip-hop will never not hold a place in my heart, thanks to fond high school memories.

Holy crap, flist, this is one of the best covers I've ever heard. How on earth they managed to take a song like this (which, although fun, is ridiculously annoying and seemingly obscure) and give it such depth is beyond me.

Disclaimer: No, I don't hate Gwen, she's lovely. Nor is this a slight against the pairing.

Grizzly Bear and Bowerbirds on Cemetery Gates. I like this series, they've had some great bands come in and of course they all sound freaking amazing.

PLUS a bonus 5 track mix, Evil evil-doers of evil.
WARNING: While the storyline that accompanies the songs is vague and I've taken many liberties, you could definitely say that it contains spoilers for seasons 1 & 2 and various Arthurian legends. I've yet to meet a Merlin fan who doesn't know what's in store for Morgana in the future, but I so know some people who haven't seen any season two eps yet, so consider yourself warned.
Likewise, the mini!mix contains the name of a baddie who isn't bad yet, and again, while I've never met a Merlin fan who didn't know about this part of the legends, it'd be just my luck to spoil one, so BEWARE.
With that said, please enjoy!

FANMIXES ARE EATING MY SOUL.
So I did this one yesterday, the Arthur/Merlin one, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out (so were the 50+ people that downloaded it too, by the look of things! I'm glad Mediafire tells you how many people download!). Last night I'm listening to my ipod and there's like five songs in a row that I could completely relate to evil!Morgana. High five for my ipod, right? I may or may not have snuggled it. ANYWAY, from those five songs last night, I now have a complete list of fourteen to make my ultimate Morgana mixtape. I just finshed the draft of the entry, with the codes and storyline, and now all I need to do is upload the songs. I am legit pleased with myself, which is silly, but it's actually been a while since I've felt this sort of accomplishment.
It's probably still a few days away, seeing as how I have a rather busy week and also because I don't wanna post the mixes too close together, but yay for me nonetheless.
I also may be halfway through an Arthur/Gwen break-up mix and maybesortakinda another Arthur/Merlin one. Songs are even jumping out at me for individual Arthur and Merlin ones. WATCH THIS SPACE.

I was thinking about this the other day and in my head this is how their storyline flows, so I thought, 'hey, I know I have some totally rad songs that go with this'. Thus, a fanmix was born. No album art because I am not graphically inclined.
UPDATE: Holy crap, over

Episode three was the best one yet of series two of Merlin. I couldn't imagine it before but I totally see the appeal of Merlin/Morgana now. They would make gorgeous babies for sure. That's one thing I really like about this series and fandom. No, not the babies. The way the cast has so much damn chemistry, you can (and most people do) ship just about any combination. This is the first fandom where I haven't come across any arguments about relationships. There's the odd person of course but mostly everyone's like, 'I don' care who makes out, just bring on the pretty!'
Anyway, tangent. I've yet to watch True Blood (besides episode one) but I'm enjoying everything else at the moment. iCarly had been good (I know the most recent ep wasn't exactly great plot-wise, but there was a ton of little moments I loved), so has The Office.
I have been smoke free for a month now, go me!
